In praise of bizarre guitars and gear!
Firstman FB 60 Amp Demo
Here's a quick demo of a rarely seen piece of gear! Probably dating to the 70s, this is a little solid state combo meant for bass/keyboard but the rotary effect is really awesome!

I'm a big fan of these hollow Fano guitars!
2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Guitar Demo

This guitar hails from a cool run of worn gold top studio models, and this one has been pinstriped!
Tokai S.E.B. Guitar Demo
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
I wanted to do a little video about the patented Tokai body construction, called S.E.B. or Sound Effect Body. Tokai has been building guitars like this for a few years and basically the company combines different tone woods to achieve different tonal ranges. It's pretty cool!
1998 Gibson L5 CES Guitar Demo

One of the finest Jazz guitars ever made, and from a great era for Gibson too!
1968 Burns SG-28 Guitar Demo

I had to remove the backing track so this is a re-edited version of the original video. The guitar dates to the late 60s when a Tokyo-based music store used the brand name "Burns" on all their guitars!

More fuzz fun from Creepy... used a Gisbon Les Paul through the Ampeg Gemini I amp.
1984 Tokai Super Edition F65 Guitar Demo

I know this isn't the normal fare for demos, but I just had a lot of love for Tokai and try to buy interesting, old examples like this. Plus, we chose a song from the era!
1950s Knicard Super Lap Steel
Переглядів 3,2 тис.4 роки тому
This is an early, intersting Japanese instrument that is a lap steel but features a curved neck (front and back) and a screw-on metal bracket to play more like a guitar!
1960s Maier Electric Guitar Demo

Strange vintage Japanese guitar with a built in amp/speaker! Transistorized!

Vintage Kremona Guitar Demo

Ok, this one is sort of a mystery for me. It's most likely a Kremona or Orfeus... something from Bulgaria I think?
1960s Harmony Rocket Guitar Demo #2

Just because the Rocket plays so nice, and because Mike wanted to mess around with his new looper pedal!

Epiphone "Worn" Wilshire Reissue Guitar Demo
This was my first Distortion "Pedal" ever. a Keyboard player sold it to me for $20, around 1978, and mine was covered in a purple Fuzzy Fabric. I don't remember what happened to it, but I got a LOT of use out of it. It was very versatile.
I still own one of these. It was my first guitar when i was 15years old back in 1996. It needs an original saddle and bridge cover. Had to update tuners back then. Didnt know what I had. Still in great shape tho.
So cool, I’d like to do this with a jaguar
😎
Whose here in 2024
I had one of these guitars when I was in high school around 1981. I would love to get one again.
Hey what's the best guitar you've played
There’s a Welson catalog on the Internet Archive which brought me here to see how they sound
I have to commend both Gretsch and Yamaha. Their mid-range instruments are well worth the money. When it comes to their student and professional level models, you get A LOT more than you pay for. Hats off to both companies.
This is so cool! What type of P90s are those? Know where I can get a set?
But really. It is terrible! The setup and the playing both. I know you are quote okay in certain styles and ways but it is just not one of them. I rather not even mention the "sheddig". And on the backing track she sounds like some rusty bucket. Sorry mate, I know you can do way much better.
Very sloppy, sometimes even cringe playing. But. Even then you can feel the vibes, the sound is there that we need to bring out from a sixties guitar. But the distorted part is a big no. Either you need a different crank or you need to set up the guitar and the amp properly. I watched this video unti the end, it was fun. Anyway...
How about some Norm Greenbaum!
Oh how I love it’s burbling, farty goodness!
I was just gifted this same model guitar.
I have a red hagstrom, 1963 with simulated leather around the back and a plastic face, played with Joe Walsh once with it when I was younger.
Mike, you and I went to different schools together....When I hear you play a Blue Cheer, Dead, Quicksilver , Big Brother or other riff I know we've been to the same spaces.
Was there a little Out of Focus in there by Blue Cheer?
классная гитара
I wonder if this all just improv I wanted to buy this guitar when i started out because it was really cheap Now i just come back here for the great playing You rock man
Gorgeous guitar. God those old Italian beauties are just so underappreciated.
Because most of them, like this one is simply not good enough. They know things that gives you vibes straight from the sixties, but only in good hands you can achieve that.
I have this amp. You can bridge the two channels like an old Marshall.
My first electric guitar- took the PU apart- a rusty bar magnet wrapped with crappy wire. FOR-get it. Mine was blue. Got rid of it simply to get rid of it - bought my 1972 Gib SG Standard about eighteen months later still have it 44 years later
Mate, you really know how to get the Max out of that Amp! Sensational ! Great Playing too! I just bought a Acetone SA 25 in Australia, for $40. Needs a new Speaker. I have a really good WGS to go in it.
😈🔱👿... . To see what this cool guitar can do look up the band ...earth tungue.. She jams on one 🤘...
I have the dual pickup version of the exact same guitar I bought in 1969. Used in in many bars. Great guitar.
let my 33 go years ago...been sorry ever since.
my gf have this but its gone broken and wanting to fix it is it rising in value?
John Lord's organ.
I have one of these! Of this color specifically, there were about 5500 made from 1975-1981 I believe. The tremolo hardware in general is absolutely terrifying. The whole piece that keeps the tremolo in place genuinely looks like a knife blade balanced on a small notch. One bend too far and the guy in the front row is going down like Goliath. They did make tremolo bars for them but you could just press on it. There’s a black stripe right above the bridge under the bottom pickup that can be lifted and the guitar can be played somewhat muted I think it kinda sounds like Surfaris or Ventures. Altogether it weighs as much if not more than a Les Paul. Absolute tank. I could shoot mine with a hunting rifle and it would remain unharmed.
Dirty Boy!!!!
I almost traded this thing away till I checked prices on Reverb...holy shit...I'll def never own another if I moved this. It's a special one---kinda a sibling to the Crowther (makes the Hotcake- his only other pedal!) Prunes and Custard which is a Wilco, among others, favorite. These 2 pedals define "psychedelic fuzz" to me, as opposed to just shredding Hendrix licks with a Fuzzface.
i love that barney kessel shape
Awesome!
Gibson sg like body and fender like headstock
This video confirmed my decision to buy a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard. No Regrets.
Mike on point as ALWAYS! Thanks for another killer demo brother.
I own one and love it. It gets bitchen loud and full. Noiseless. My favorite FUZZ pedal I own.
burning up the strings
These are great enough to convert a staunch Tele lover into Gretsch lover too. Sweet!
Feel a whole lot better! One of my favorite songs! I used to play it with my friend on stage.. Cheers Buddy ;) and great guitar as usually🎉
how can you tell the difference between an original and the clone ? would love to know
Great tone love these harmony guitars
Is there any chance you have more videos? I have a gr973 that my grandpa gave me. He bought it used back in the 70s. This is the only video I've seen of one being played.
Excellent playing! 🔥👍🔥
That's one Flamigo headstock right there.
What a beefy game changer, if Keith Richard’s knew it would later lead to creation of heavy metal he probably would have never used it 😂
0:16 made me laugh ! yes perfect
This a good listen
Spot on fella
